Hardware etching involves three etching processes.

In the hardware etching process, a metal material plate is covered with a film that needs to be protected, and then a metal film pattern is made. The pattern is printed on the metal material by screen printing or screen printing with an exposure machine. Because the film plays a role in covering the part that needs to be protected, the part that does not need to be protected is eroded by chemical corrosion or electrochemical means, and finally the protective film is withdrawn to obtain the product that needs to be made. Widely used in the production of signs, circuit boards, metal handicrafts, metal layouts and so on. Different hardware materials have different properties, precision and depth, and the etching methods used are also different, which also makes the etching solution formula different. For example, the etching solution for aluminum and stainless steel are completely different, mainly because the activity of aluminum is high, and the etching solution for titanium and stainless steel are also different.

1. Chemical etching method-using ferric chloride and water to form a highly acidic or alkaline solution to chemically etch unprotected parts, which is also the most common method in the etching process. The advantage is that the etching can be achieved in half an hour, and the batch production speed is fast. The disadvantage is that the etching solution is very polluting to the production environment, and it is not easy to recover. Zhuolida etching adopts Japanese standards to construct an independent etching solution recovery circulation system, which can effectively incorporate environmental protection into the key points, and the recovery rate can reach more than 92%.

Second, electrochemical etching method-the electrolyte is electrified, and the anode is dissolved by the workpiece, so as to achieve the purpose of etching. The main advantages are less environmental pollution and no harm to operators. The disadvantages are that batch etching cannot be met, and the uneven distribution of current rate cannot meet the requirements.

Third, laser etching method-the etching cost is relatively high, and it is widely used in PCB and PCBA industries to carry out printed circuit boards. The process flow of laser etching method is similar to that of chemical etching. For smaller planar workpieces, the coating process can be completed by screen printing, and for large areas, the surface coating development, that is, the chemical etching process, is adopted.

The way of hardware etching mainly depends on the purpose of material and process drawing, and chemical etching is usually used.
